The Testa Rossa is based on the MHR Team II, with 7 transfer ports, 1-ring piston and divided (bridged) exhaust port. One of its strong points is the modified exhaust port design with thin bridge and large exhaust surface. The cylinder head is divided (modular) and is topped by the eye-catching anodized red cylinder head cover.
Unlike the flange-mount version which is only compatible with Malossi’s racing crankcases, this version is mounted via stud bolts and can be used with standard engines and cases (as well as with the C-One). There’s some milling to be done, however; instructions are in the manual.
In raw numbers, the Testa Rossa is quite the beast – 22hp without any modifications. It needs a matching set-up, though – high-end exhaust, racing ignition, large carburetor (28mm) etc. Skilled tuners will be able to get 26hp out of this phenomenal kit.
